– SUNDAY 4TH JULY 2004
1.0 The 28th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair
enters its fifth day today the 4th July 2004. The fair
was officially opened yesterday by H.E. Dr. Ali Mohamed
Shein, the Vice President of the United Republic of
Tanzania who also presented awards to winners of various
categories. A list of Winners of various categories
is attached.
The official
opening ceremony was also attended by the Her Royal
Highness Madame Inkhosikati la Matsebula the Queen of
Swaziland and Her Host Mama Anna Mkapa, the First Lady
of the United Republic of Tanzania.
2.0 After the
official opening ceremony, H.E. Dr. Ali Mohamed Shein
the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania
had an opportunity to visit selected pavilions. Her
Royal Highness Madame Inkhosikati la Matsebula the Queen
of Swaziland and Her Host Mama Anna Mkapa had a similar
visit to selected pavilions.
3.0 Today the
28th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair will be
visited by the following dignitaries:-
3.1 Honourable
Dr. Juma Ngasongwa (MP), Minister for Industry and Trade
who is expected to start his visit at 11.00 a.m.;
3.2 The Honourable
Members of Parliament, Trade and Investment Committee,
are expected to arrive at 10.00 a.m.
A programme of
the visit will be circulated accordingly.
4.0 All exhibitors
who have not collected their certificates of participation
should obtain them from the Directorate of Export Promotion
of the Board of External Trade.
5.0 Full co-operation
is sought form all exhibitors in filling in and submit
the research questionnaire forms which are given to
them by the BET research team on a daily basis.
6.0 Exhibitors
are reminded to insure their exhibits. BET will not
take any responsibility for any loss occurring on individual
stands.
7.0 All exhibitors
are further reminded that:-
7.1 All direct sales require payment of stamp duty and
VAT for VAT registered companies;
7.2 They should
maintain fire fighting equipment on their stands. This
is a by-law set by the City Council Fire Superintendent;
7.3 Selling of
Pharmaceuticals is not allowed unless the exhibitors
have special permits form the Pharmacy Board.
8.0 Abu Dhabi
business delegation under the leadership of the Exhibitions
Corporation of Abu Dhabi and hosted by the Board of
External Trade will visit the fair grounds today. The
business delegation from Indonesia will also be visiting
the fair grounds on the 6th July 2004. Members of the
business community interested in meeting with these
delegations to explore business opportunities are strongly
advised to contact the Board of External Trade protocol
office.
9.0 The BET Management
is concerned that some of the pavilions operate their
musical instruments beyond the acceptable volumes. Kindly
note that playing loud music is not permissible by the
organizers of the fair. Contravening of this regulation
may result in confistication of musical instrument of
the concerned exhibitors.
